We get started with our final winter camp in just three weeks, on February 20! This winter camp is our dog sledding intensive!
Our camp gives kids in grades K-8 a week of winter exploration, skill building and play outside as well as lots of time for dog sledding with PEO’s kennel of friendly Alaskan huskies! In addition to snowshoeing and learning winter survival skills, like building a snow shelter or lighting a winter fire, they’ll learn to harness and drive Sid and Ice, PEO’s draft horses on a sleigh ride. They’ll also spend time each day with PEO’s kennel of friendly Alaskan husky sled dogs, learning about daily care of the dogs, and how to harness and hook up the teams. They’ll go for a dog sled ride, and conditions and camper skill level permitting, develop their skills to drive their own small team of sled dogs on a beginner friendly 1/2 mile loop!
For this camp, we’re offering some “flex” options! You can sign up for the whole week, choose Tuesday-Friday, choose Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, or Tuesday and Thursday for a 2-day camp excursion!
Details and pricing for all of our February camp options are right at your fingertips after you head to our Youth Adventure Programs page here.
