That’s a great shot from our December Winter Break camp! If you missed it, that’s no problem. We’ve got another great camp opportunity coming up in February. Here are the details:
PEO’s February Winter Break Day Camp gives children in grades K-8 a week of winter exploration, skill building and play outside as well as lots of time for dog sledding with PEO’s kennel of friendly Alaskan huskies!
In addition to snowshoeing and learning winter survival skills, like building a snow shelter or lighting a winter fire, you’ll learn to harness and drive Sid and Ice, PEO’s draft horses on a sleigh ride. You’ll also spend time each day with PEO’s kennel of friendly Alaskan husky sled dogs, where you’ll learn about daily care of the dogs, and how to harness and hook up the teams.
You’ll have the opportunity to go for a dog sled ride, and conditions and camper skill level permitting, develop your skills to drive your own small team of sled dogs on a beginner friendly 1/2 mile loop.
Campers should plan to spend most of the week outdoors. A heated indoor classroom space is also available. Meet at Marshall School parking lot, 1215 Rice Lake Road for van pickup to PEO’s site, 15 miles north of Duluth at 8:30 am each day. Campers will be dropped off at 4:30 pm each afternoon at Marshall School.
Camp starts February 20 and runs through February 24. Sign up now to reserve your space for this very popular winter camp opportunity by visiting our website.
